![]() ![]() Colour looks great right out of the box.īlack levels look fantastic to me (however my previous reference point was low). Haven't tweaked the settings too much apart from the luminance and HDR settings and turned the motion settings off. Similarly a bit of blooming running the test patterns (mainly subtitles) but haven't noticed it all while watching movies etc. ![]() In real world use - zero issues apparent with this. I think I can't just about make out a vague grid effect but don't know if this is just in my head. Ran the DSE test and the panel looks great to me. Both seem great and plumped for the XR85X95J in the end due to good deal online and being curious, as never have owned a Sony Bravia before. Looked about quite a bit between Samsung models and the Sony. Upgrading from a 65inch hisense K720 which was around 5 years old and had no HDR. Unfortunately been away from home since then but back now and had a good play about last night. Is it worth the price difference? Most definitely not.I recently acquired the XR85X95J around 2 weeks ago. That's well more than double the price of the X95J. Right now, it costs a whopping $3000 on Amazon ($3800 MSRP). There is a new 200 model out, the 75" Sony Bravia XR X95K 4K TV. Google TV is a definitely upgrade to the aging Android TV interface and works just as well as Fire TV or Apple TV, even more so if you use an Android phone or tablet. The Sony A80J is also new enough to adopt Google TV for its smart TV experience. It boasts a true 120Hz panel with HDMI 2.1 inputs for 4K 120Hz support for the PS5 and Xbox Series X gaming consoles, as well as variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM). The X95J also features XR Triluminos Pro (wide color gamut) and Dolby Vision support. The local dimming on the X95J is exceptionally good so good in fact that it's better than many high end QLED and Mini-LED panels from rival brands. The X95J has full-array LED backlighting with local dimming. The X95J has a lot of premium features that allow it to excel at HDR content. If you wanted to stick with Sony, the only better route would have been to spend $3K or more on an equivalently sized Sony OLED TV. Yes, the Sony X95J is a 2021 model, but it was Sony's best LCD TV in 2021. ![]()
